PIPEWORK FOR NEW DISTILLERY

A major distillery awarded a contract to Clydeforth to install pipebridges, support towers and pipework as part of a major expansion on their site.

Clydeforth carried out detailed survey and provided client with proposed routes for their approval or comments.
The pipebridges were fabricated at our works and then galvanised, on return from the galvanisers these bridges were fully assembled in our works to ensure proper fit up.

This method ensures efficient erection at site to minimise disruption to our clients production activities.

Duration 6 weeks

PIPEWORK FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY

Clydeforth were appointed as principal contractor by a major distillery to design and build civils, pipebridges and pipework associated with a renewable energy project.

The information provided by our client was limited to line sizes and approximate route to follow. Clydeforth carried out detailed surveys prior to carrying out detailed design. The main line was a 400 dia stainless with 5D bends, a further 6 small diameter process lines material 304. The pipebridges were mild steel, galvanised structures.

Duration of project 10-12 weeks.

The successful completion of this contract resulted in this client awarding Clydeforth further contracts.

WATER/POWER ENGINEERING

Our client who specialises in small to medium sized hydro power schemes requested Clydeforth supply 1200/1000 dia pipelines approximately 22 metres long.

The material was mild steel, the concentric reducer and main pipe were rolled from plate and seams welded, the circumferential butts and flanges were then welded and NDT carried out. The units were tested to 30 bar and then galvanised ready for uplift by our client.

STEAM JACKET

A client requested Clydeforth design and manufacture a stainless steam jacket for a still to comply with PD5500.

The unit consisted of two hemispherical ends with a 50mm void between them, to allow steam to flow through a mating flange was manufactured and welded to match copper still. The unit was designed by Clydeforth to PD5500 with design verification and inspection by Lloyds Register.

CHEMICAL BLENDING PLANT

A major company approached Clydeforth to design and build a chemical blending plant consisting of 4 No 3m3 stainless 316 vessels, 3 No 1.5m3 stainless 316 vessels, a galvanised support structure & walkways, 1 No blender unit, overhead gantry crane, dust extract system, electrical works, delivery/despatch vessel 1m3 stainless IBC

The proposed plant had to be designed to fit within existing premises.

Clydeforth’s engineer carried out a detailed survey, from this information general arrangement drawings were produced for discussion/agreement with our client. Once these were approved the detailed design of the above components was carried out, fabricated and trial assembled at our works where chemicals were then introduced. Our client then carried out their own trials at our premises prior to dismantling and shipment to site for final installation.

The overall project duration was 10 weeks.
